Oak Island Golf Club

This 18-hole George Cobb design is located on the island in Caswell Beach. The newly constructed clubhouse overlooks the ocean and is home to a pub & grill, and a pro-shop.

Oak Island Sea Turtle Program

Beginning in May of each year, volunteers begin searching for turtle nests and when one is found, the eggs are located, and if in an unsafe location the nest is carefully moved for protection and monitoring during incubation until hatching. There are 180+ volunteers who are dedicated to monitoring and protecting the sea turtle population here at Oak Island.

Veterans Park on the ICW

Veterans Park is located on Yacht Drive at 14th NE on the Intracoastal Waterway. The park features a dedication to all branches of the armed forces in a natural beautiful setting complete with a butterfly garden, fishing tee pier, picnic shelter, waterfront boardwalk, swings, and benches.

Ghost Crab Hunting


Summer nights you will see families with flashlights in search of almost iridescent, sand-colored critters that live along the Oak Island shoreline. During the day they stay in tiny holes beneath the surface of the sand to avoid predators, after dark you will see them scurry across the sand. Tools needed to enjoy this activity include a bucket and a flashlight.

Dutchman Creek Boat Ramp


Located on the mainland side of Oak Island, this is a convenient free place to launch your boat or kayak. It has a large parking area and two launches.

NE 55Th St Municipal Boat Ramp


Public boating access including two ramps, open all day and night, and accessible at both high and low tides. Launching here will lead you to the Intracoastal Waterway.

Public Kayak Launch


Launch your kayak at 198 SE 31st St in Oak Island. This hidden gem is in the middle of the island with a boardwalk that extend over the canal.
