Vacation Family Fun

Things To Do

Traditional family vacations are the reason Holden Beach exists and has remained quiet, peaceful, and low key for so many years. Here, family time is spent by the water, building sandcastles, body boarding in the surf, eating ice cream, taking long beach strolls, playing mini-golf, and spending quality time with one another.

Shelling at Holden Beach

Website
Beachgoers enjoy shell seeking on the island of Holden Beach. And since the island is non-commercial, this experience is a favorite thing to do among vacationing guests and residents. Holden Beach has nine miles of beach for you to discover shells in and out of the water's edge.

Beach, Beach, Beach

Vacationing guests and residents enjoy the beach. Take the day relaxing, swimming, shelling, building sandcastles, playing beach games, admiring the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean, and more. The sunrises and sunsets are a must see.

Ghost Crab Hunting

Summer nights you will see families with flashlights in search of almost iridescent, sand-colored critters that live along the Holden Beach shoreline. During the day they stay in tiny holes beneath the surface of the sand to avoid predators, after dark you will see them scurry across the sand. Tools needed to enjoy this activity include a bucket and a flashlight.
